HELVETICMAN lies within the triangle of three famous tourist resorts LUZERN – INTERLAKEN – ANDERMATT. Start is in Stansstad and the finish is in Melchsee Frutt.
TRI 113 SOLO is an extreme endeavor but is suitable for all athletes that have completed a half distance triathlon. HELVETICMAN TRI 113 will have more elevation gained on both the bike and run than most typical half distance triathlons.
TRI 113 TEAM allows for a little less ‘xtreme’ but a whole lot of awesome. 2-3 athletes per team.
TRAIL 42 is a full marathon run for more experienced trail runners.
TRAIL 21 is a half marathon run suitable for all trail runners.
TRI 113 SOLO / TEAM: You must be at least 18 years of age on race day.
TRAIL 42 & TRAIL 21: Those who are 15-17 years of age on race day may participate if accompanied by an adult. They must remain no more than 50 meters apart for the entire duration of the run. Athlete race packet and timing chip can be picked up the evening before the race in Stansstad or at STÖCKALP (bottom of the gondola) on raceday. There will also be a late sign up for TRAIL 21 and TRAIL 42 only.
It is required that all athletes read the Athlete Handbook prior to the race and be ready for a pre race briefing. Options:
HELVETICMAN reserves the right to modify the course due to weather or unforeseen road closures to assure the safety of all participants. In case of changes to the route or failure of the event due to force majeure, the organization is not obliged to partially or fully refund the entry fee.
You may transfer your entry to a third party with a SFr 50 transfer fee.
You may change your status from Team to Solo; no transfer fee will apply and there will be no refund for price difference.
In the event of a medical issue with proper documentation up to 30 days prior to race day you may defer your registration to the following year but will only be valid one year after cancellation.
The waiver must be personally signed and handed in. Without the signed waiver the timing chip / race number pick up is not possible. Please print and sign the waiver in advance.
After you finish the race you will pick up your bags and bike and take it to the gondola station. The bike may go in a separate gondola car for gear while you and your bag ride down the gondola in the passenger car. The gondola ride down is free for athletes. Alternately, you may collect your belonging from the finish collection zone and ride your bike down yourself.
From a mathematical point of view, the difference in altitude from start T1 to transition zone T2 is about 1,430m. If the way back with the descent would be counted, then it would be 3’300hm to 120 kilometers of distance. The ascents range between 8-14% grade.
You take your bags with you in the gondola and deposit it at the start/finish area in MELCHSEE-FRUTT.
