GENERAL

WHERE IS IT LOCATED?

HELVETICMAN lies within the triangle of three famous tourist resorts  LUZERN – INTERLAKEN – ANDERMATT. Start is in Stansstad and the finish is in Melchsee Frutt.

WHICH COURSE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

TRI113 SOLO is an extreme endeavor but is suitable for all athletes that have completed a half distance triathlon.  HELVETICMAN TRI 113 will have more elevation gained on both the bike and run than most typical half distance triathlons.
TRI113 TEAM allows for a little less ‘xtreme’ but a whole lot of awesome.  2-3 athletes per team.
TRI68 is those who would like to get a taste of the extreme.
TRAIL 21 is a half marathon run suitable for all trail runners.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

TRI68 & TRI 113: You must be at least 18 years of age on race day.
TRAIL 21: Those who are 15-17 years of age on race day may participate if accompanied by an adult.  They must remain no more than 50 meters apart for the entire duration of the run.  The adult takes full responsibility of the minor starting at registration up until they depart from the race or finisher village.

Yes.  For all races.

  • Triathlon: 1:10 for the swim. Final deadline for all distances 18:00
  • Trail Run: TRAIL 21 – 4 hours

HOW DO I GET MY RACE NUMBER AND DOSSIER?

  1. BY MAIL:  Athletes can choose to have the race packet mailed to them. Timing-Chip pick up will be on race day morning. Athlete waiver must be signed and handed in on race morning during the pick up of the timing chip at the transition zone. Briefing: It is required that all athletes read the Athlete Handbook prior to the race and be ready for a short pre race briefing on race morning.

TRIATLHON

HOW WILL I GET MY BIKE FROM T2 IN MELCHSEE-FRUTT DOWN TO STÖCKALP?

After you finish the race you will pick up your bags and bike and take it to the gondola station. The bike may go in a separate gondola car for gear while you and your bag ride down the gondola in the passenger car.  The gondola ride down is free for athletes. Alternately, you may collect your belonging from the finish collection zone and ride your bike down yourself.

THE BIKE COURSE INCLUDES A LOT OF CLIMBING, WILL I BE ABLE TO DO IT?

From a mathematical point of view, the difference in altitude from start T1 to transition zone T2 is about 1,430m. If the way back with the descent would be counted, then it would be 3’300hm to 120 kilometers of distance. The ascents range between 8-14% grade.
